A situation that occurs quite often during a round is the ball coming to rest on the cart path.
And most of the amateurs I play with have no idea what the correct ruling is. Because of human nature, they automatically drop the ball on the side with the nicest grass or the best view of the flagstick. This is not correct. In this video, Brent McLaughlin, Director Rules, Competitions and Amateur Status of the RCGA, explains the correct golf rule that covers this and the correct procedure with help from his assistant Allison.
