An overswing is when the club shaft goes beyond the point where it is parallel with the ground at the top of the backswing. … The two main causes of an overswing I see are 1) the left arm bends, allowing the club to travel too far at the top of the backswing, and 2) the right elbow folds behind the body.
Over-swinging is a flaw created when the player believes he/she must swing back a long way to generate power!
This could not be further from the truth! A nice straight lead arm and a good coil with good width in the swing will produce the power but will also enhance the accuracy! Listen as meandmygolf owner Andy Proudman explains exactly how to stop this in your golf swing!
PGA Golf Professional Andy Proudman talks about how to stop your overswing. A little time on the range and you will be well on your way to a better golf game!
