In talking to the very best putters in the world, they all say that the correct speed is more important than line.  Why?  Because if your line is not perfect but your speed is, the ball will still catch the edge of the hole and go in!  PGA member Brady Riggs for Golf Tips Magazine discusses the perfect pace to hit your putts!

Should you try and die the ball into the hole or do as you’ve probably been told and hit your putts so they roll one foot past (when you miss)? In my opinion, both are correct.  Great putters like Bobby Locke and Bobby Jones died the ball into the hole.  The more modern putters like to hit the ball with a little more speed.  Find out what Brady Riggs, PGA, has to say on the subject.
