Golf is like dancing. If you have no rhythm, you cannot do well. Of course, some people have better rhythm than others, as we can all see with golfers on the PGA and LPGA Tours. Golfers like Ernie Els, Freddy Couples, and Louis Oosthuizen make us all a little jealous. Today, Chris Ryan of ChrisRyanGolf gives uncoordinated golfers new hope!
Chris Ryan demonstrates a fantastic yet simple drill that can be done during practice to help with both rhythm, tempo and making and is also great if you are making any swing changes.

Do you have the tendency to hit the ball both ways? Sometimes you hit it to the right and sometimes to the left? The problem here is you then don’t know where to aim. Chris Ryan of ChrisRyanGolf at the Belfry Golf Club in Wishaw, Warwickshire, England, close to Birmingham, explains why a lack of center hits. He also explains how using a can of foot spray can lead to straighter shots! Check it out.
Hitting the centre of the driver face is so crucial to long straight tee shots. Here Chris Ryan explains exactly why this is the case and how you can establish what your strike pattern is.

As Chris Ryan of ChrisRyanGolf quite correctly states, most amateur golfers will immediately pull their sand wedge almost every time they have a chip shot around the green. Your percentages of getting it close to the hole are fairly slim unless you are Phil Mickelson! Using less loft, like a 6 iron, and letting the ball run will get you closer to the hole more times than not! If you want a specific formula for these types of shots, go here!
The chip and run can often look like a simple shot, but there are some things that many handicap golfers should aim to focus on. This video explains some of those things as Chris Ryan talks through the shot.
Getting a lot more spin on your pitch shots is not hard!

” How do I get more spin on my pitch shots?” is a question I get asked fairly often from my students. The first thing I do is check their equipment. How deep are the grooves? You are not going to get any spin if the grooves are worn out. Second, surprisingly, is a clean clubface. You cannot get spin if the grooves on your club are all full of dirt. Make sure you clean the grooves on your wedges after every shot. Use a tee to dig the dirt out while it is still fresh because once it hardens, it is far more difficult to do so. Once your equipment is ready, Chris Ryan will help you with the technical aspect of the shot. Good luck!
In this video, PGA Professional at The Belfry Chris Ryan shows you how to create the best conditions to hit those mid length pitch shots with high spin that bounce then check up on the green.
