A lot of golfers, male and female, struggle to hit their 3 wood off the ground. Why, you ask? Because golfers think they have to hit the ball up into the air and get the clubhead traveling too much in an upward direction at impact. This will work when the ball is on a tee but will be a disaster when the ball is on the ground. Rick Shiels of Rick Shiels Golf explains that rather try and hit the ball with a more “forward driving” motion, and the loft on the fairway wood will automatically launch the ball at the proper trajectory!

Mizuno has long been known for producing the best irons in the golf industry.
I play Mizuno irons and recommend them to all of my students, from beginner to low handicap.

10 year old ‘Sienna’ worked with PGA Teacher Rick Shiels for her first-ever lesson. Sienna had a decent backswing, but Rick had her put a little more shoulder turn into it. He also showed her how to shift her weight to the left into a full finish. The results? This child gained 90 yards at the end of the 20-minute lesson. WOW! See it here . . . .
