Jack Nicklaus worked very hard on controlling trajectory on all of his iron shots to peaked at exactly the same height.

The thinking behind this was that even though the trajectory was different for a Pitching wedge and a 3 iron, they all peaked at the same height.  That meant the downward trajectory would be the same for all clubs, giving him the same amount of roll on a 3 iron as a pitching wedge.  If you have ever watched Jack hit a 3 iron, you’ll know what I’m talking about.  In conjunction with Golf Digest, Jeff Ritter gives you some neat drills to really help you understand trajectory!
